Title: There is no object in this control
Post by drisp on Sep 27th, 2007, 3:49pm
I just bought a licence to use Serial Port control
when i add the control to a form in MS Access 97 and then open that form this message appears:
"There is no object in this control"

a white box appears where the Serial port controller was added.

while under a trial licence i used this software in visual basic environment very well. i also tried to use it in access under the trial licence but it wouldnt let me open a form because it said i could not use it my own projects as it was a trial version....

please help

ok as i have been searching for a solution between doing other jobs i have found a fix for this problem  :D

link is here http://www.mvps.org/access/bugs/bugs0029.htm

also for those who dont wanna click links this is the fix

1) Place your FabulaTech control on the form
2) Size it.  as in drag a corner out
3) Cut it to the Clipboard (Ctrl-X)
4) Paste it from the Clipboard (Ctrl-V)
5) Position the control where ever you would like
6) save form and use it

this is what i did and it worked. dont know why but it does
case closed
