Title: Virtual Serial Port Error (0x10, 0x2)
Post by Gabriel on Jan 10th, 2006, 10:40pm
I have installed the Virtual Serial Port Kit program on a PC and the program has been running the past few weeks without problem even after numerour PC restarts.

In an one off incident, I restarted the PC and it came up with an error message with "Virtual Serial Port" as the window title and "Program starting error (0x10, 0x2)" as the window content. Logoff and relogin did not help. The problem only went away when the computer was restarted. What is the cause and how to prevent this from happening in the future?

What Virtual Serial Port Kit version do you test? Please try to reinstall latest 4.7.3 program version if you use more old version.

I too have this error (with 4.7.3) - but every day.  Manually starting the service would normally fix the problem.

After upgrading to 4.8, I now get " Error(2) Module VspkShell(147) ".  The first time I had it, and after manually starting the service, the ports were disabled and trying to enable them yielded " Error 87 Module VirtualPort(54) ".  A reboot got me back to a working configuration - but only after manually starting the service again.

Windows XP Pro SP2.

About Error(2). For some reasons startup type of vspksrv.exe service was changed from "Automatic" to "Manual" so to resolve this error you have to change startup type back to "Automatic".

To resolve Eror(87) please find vspk-err.log file within system32 folder and email it us to support@fabulatech.com for our examination.
